Tirta Empul Temple Bali

Tirta Empul is a temple and holy mountain spring located in the village of Manukaya in central Bali.

The name Tirta Empul means ‘holy water spring’ and refers to a water source located within the temple.

The temple’s sacred springs with healing properties were created by the god Indra over a thousand years ago,

The temple offers a cleansing ritual amidst ancient pools,

The temple is located in the village of Manukaya, near the town of Tampaksiring,

1. The temple is located just below the presidential palace of Tampaksiring, which was built in 1957 by the first Indonesian president, Soekarno.
